▸ The short version

1. Overview

ZombieUP ("we," "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to the ZombieUP website and iPhone app (together, the "Service") and works alongside our Terms of Service. By using the Service you agree to this policy.

2. Information we collect

We keep data collection to what the game actually needs to work:

We do not collect data to track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not show advertising.

3. Apple Health data

ZombieUP reads workout and sleep data from Apple Health only after you grant access, and only the categories needed to score your activity. Health data obtained through Apple Health is used solely to provide app features — your in-game progress, stats, loot, badges and leaderboard standing. We never use Health data for advertising or marketing, and we never sell it or share it with third parties for their own use. You can revoke Health access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → ZombieUP.

4. Location data

Location is used to power meetups: estimating your distance and arrival time to an event's meet point, and — only when you tap to share it — broadcasting your live location to your crew for the duration of that event. You control location access in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services, and you can stop sharing your live location at any time inside the app.

5. How we use your information

We do not sell your personal data.

6. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)

We process personal data based on: your consent (health and location data, marketing emails), performance of our contract with you (providing the Service), and our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, and product improvement).

7. How your information is shared

Some information is visible to others as part of normal gameplay — your display name, avatar and scores appear on leaderboards, and your shared workouts appear to followers and squad members according to your privacy choices. Beyond that, we share data only with trusted providers who help us run the Service, under contractual obligations and only as needed:

We may disclose information if required by law. We do not sell your personal data.

8. Your rights & choices

California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA. EEA/UK residents may lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.

9. Data retention

We retain account and gameplay data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data from our systems, except where we're required to retain certain records by law. Update-list emails are kept until you unsubscribe or request deletion, and support messages are kept as long as needed to resolve issues.

10. International transfers

Your data may be processed in the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

11. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

12. Security

We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS encryption in transit and authenticated access controls on our systems, and we limit what we collect in the first place. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your data.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above, and may also be announced in the app or by email. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
